A prayer corner is a great way to create an atmosphere for prayer.
Your prayer corner can be on a wall, table or shelf.
To start, you will need 4 icons: Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, St. John the Baptist and your Patron Saint, which is the Saint you were named after either at birth or at your Baptism.
1. Place the icon of Jesus Christ on the right hand side.
2. Place the icon of the Virgin Mary on the left hand side.
3. Now place the icon of St. John the Baptist, who is the Forerunner of Christ, to the right of Jesus.
4. Finally, place the icon of your Patron Saint to the left of the Virgin Mary.
You can also ask your parents to help you light a candle or burn incense in front of your icons. For safety reasons, never leave them unattended. Now grab your prayer book and enjoy this sacred space you have created to communicate with God and His Saints.
